LOVE IS THE MESSAGE
Welcome back to the club. If you are new, The Gold Club Newsletter is a collection of my musings, inspirations, personal updates, music/book recs, and most importantly, it's a community of wonderful, beautiful people that I have connected with in some way over the last few years. As I continue to refine my process and frequency of this newsletter, I thank you for the love and encouragement thus far! This year has inspired massive internal shifts and I'm grateful that we can grow together in love and in art.
Yours,
Gavin
GOLD VISIONS
As 2022 quickly comes to an end, I invite you to begin envisioning the next year of your life with me. I tend to do this visually, by saving images on Pinterest or IG, that inspire or represent a feeling, a mood, a color, or a picture that I want to carry into my next phase. Sometimes resolutions and goal setting can be daunting, but vision boarding with a collection of beautiful imagery can be a powerful and creative alternative. Feel free to share your vision boards with me!
BACK IN THE STUDIO
If you've been creepin on my IG lately, you already know I've been in the studio a ton lately and thoroughly enjoying the process. It feels very different from making MADAME GOLD....mostly because I'm different! MG, the album, required me to fight; from the song writing process all the way to the finish line of releasing it. It was a good fight, but a fight no less, to keep going and keep believing in myself. Something I took back with me from a trip I took to Italy in August, is the intention to take off my metaphorical fighter gloves and move into a softer era of creativity and love. Bringing that intention into the studio has been a game changer to say the least. Every song I've written thus far for this new album is infused with a deep joy I've cultivated through all the self-work I've done and am still doing. I can not wait for you to hear the joy (and dance to it)!
ADVENTURES OF MADAME GOLD
August was the most magical month of my life. I spent the entire 31 days in Florence, Italy and it was a dream for all of the reasons that you would expect and more. Best food. Best wine. Incredible visual art literally at every turn. Beautiful people, romantic cobblestone streets...but my favorite part of the trip was meeting wonderful strangers and having delightful conversations with people I would have never met in LA. I also allowed myself to indulge in a way I had yet to as an adult. Growing up in the entertainment business, I've always been very conscious of what I eat and what my body looks like. I'm used to monitoring myself very closely and honestly just needed to let go a bit in that area. Italy was the perfect place to do so lol. When I wasn't eating pasta and drinking wine, I worked on a film I've had in my heart/mind for quite some time. Happy to report I made tremendous progress. Hopefully you will see the fruits of the trip in the future :)
MG BOOK CLUB
My two book recs for you are two works of fiction...the first is Intimacies by Katie Kitamura, (which I devoured), and the second is a book of short stories by Raymond Carver called What We Talk About When We Talk About Love, which I'm currently reading. Carver is a master of short fiction. I hope you join me!
GOLD CLUB SOUND VOL. 1
You know I can't leave you without sharing what I've been jammin lately...will be sharing this playlist exclusively with those that are a part of the Gold Club. Hope you like and hope you dance alone in your room for hours...
